Samaritan’s Feet is an international non-profit organization which provides children in poverty with new shoes. Since 2003, Samaritan’s Feet staff and volunteers have washed feet and distributed over 6.5 million pairs of shoes in 91 countries and 366 U.S. cities.

This year, NKY students in Bellevue, Dayton, and Newport will receive free shoes and socks! One of our own, Sherri Madison Chan, is responsible for getting 120 volunteers for Lincoln Elementary School’s special day on Friday, August 24, from 8:00-12:30. We need your help in reaching this goal!

Touching Lives with God’s Love

Reaching Out

RIGHT NOW

Volunteer on Saturday, August 11, beginning at 8:30 a.m. through 12:00, helping students go back to school with new supplies and a smile! Amy Wilhelmus needs our help distributing gym shoes, socks, toiletries, and school supplies to over 200 students, K-12th grade.

What a great way to share the love of Jesus with His precious children! Sign-up sheets are located in the Connect Center through Sunday, August 5. A lot of help would be appreciated!

All New!

Don’t let your lack of a ride keep you from Worship on Sunday Mornings!  A member of our Transportation Ministry Team will pick you up in a Church Vehicle, ride you to the Morning Worship Service each Sunday & return you safely home afterward.  If you’re in need of a ride contact the Church Office by Noon on Friday.  If you’re interested in becoming a part of this Ministry Team contact Chris Jeanet for information.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

national-map-large

Ft. Mitchell Baptist Church is committed to meeting the needs of our community by providing opportunities for our members and friends to be of service to others. Regular activities will be planned to assist ongoing ministries in our community, so that we may share the love of Jesus. Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate.

Ministries we regularly support include Agape Grill, Isaiah House, Moore Activity Center, Jump for Joy Preschool, Ronald McDonald House, Welcome House of Covington, New Hope Center, Lifeline Ministries, Backpack Buddies, and Baptist Village. As opportunities to serve occur, notices are placed in the Sunday bulletin as well as the FMBC weekly reminders. Join us in sharing the love of Jesus!

If you wish to support these ministries or others in the local area, please contact June Madison at junemadison@yahoo.com.

Backpack Buddies: Keeping Our Kids Fed All Weekend

Through our Backpack Buddies collection of food items, FMBC has supported Goodridge Elementary students who enjoy two meals each school day but need food for the weekends. Each Friday of the school year, bags of nutritious food are discreetly placed into the backpacks of children in need. Gail Tanner collects our donations on a weekly basis and transports them to the school for distribution. To help replenish much-needed supplies at the beginning of the school year, we are asking for donations to restock the shelves.

JLM_BBlogo_option4aDonations for BPB has ceased for the Spring 2018 school sessions.  Thanks for your generous contributions throughout the year.  Be looking for our Kick-off for the Fall school session.

As you shop for your family, add a few items from the list above and help hungry students begin school each Monday morning well fed and ready to learn. After August’s special back-to-school collection, please continue to bring items to Gail on a weekly basis. (Gail is the smiling lady who greets you at the front door each and every Sunday morning!)

AGAPE GRILL/ISAIAH HOUSE

On the last Saturday of each month a team leaves from the Church Parking lot promptly at 7:45 a.m. to join with members of the Agape Grill & Isaiah House in Covington to distribute food to local families in need. Located in the parking lot at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington, the team helps distribute food, assist those in need of help, and provide other logistical support to the vital outreach to the inner city. Parking is limited, so it is imperative to ride together.

PRAYER PARTNERS:

Prayer is simply talking to God about the things that are important in life; praises, forgiveness, requests or thanks…; it doesn’t have to be mechanical, structured, complicated or perfect. Anyone can become a stronger person of prayer, you only need to be a Christian and you have a direct line to Him .He knows who needs him and He is always there to listen to our prayer. We just need to do it! Why? Because God’s hand moves when people pray together. Won’t you consider joining the Deacons Prayer Partners? As a prayer partner, some meet to pray about submitted prayer requests but others can participate from the privacy of your thoughts. The team will work to share requests and, as important, to share results.
